There is no “profile” of a typical student—every student is driven to participate by a motivation that’s uniquely their own. Previous students include racing fans wanting to experience the exhilaration of the cockpit. Others are “bucket list” thrillseekers. Several former students have even purchased boats, secured sponsorships and are now racing in TCPBA! Driving School Expierence for GT Pro is free and $100 for all other classes.

Safety is our top priority. Our experienced TCPBA instructors and rescue team will provide easy to understand education prior to getting behind the wheel along with fitting you with a: Certified helmet Certified life jacket Certified onboard air system (driver's preference)

GT Pro is an exciting entry-level class, reaching speeds up to 50 mph with 35HP outboards on various hull types. Boats can be made from wood, fiberglass, Kevlar or carbon fiber. Participants, aged 12 and up, often build their own boats or buy pre-molded ones, costing between $3,500 and $10,000.

VP 75 boats are popular for combining traditional design with advanced safety features. They offer high speeds, rough rides and close racing, reaching up to 65 MPH. This class is ideal for beginner adults due to its affordability, safety and performance.

SST 60 boats are 14ft tunnel boats equipped with a three-cylinder Evinrude engine that reach speeds up to 85 MPH. The boats are lightweight, agile and accelerate quickly. Racing competitors and students must be at least 16 years old. These boats handle and perform in a manner similar to Formula 1 powerboats.
